TRANSMAGNECA is a company dedicated to the manufacturing of transformers with applications in the electronics industry and power distribution. Typical examples of our market are security industries, voltage regulation equipment, illumination, audio-visual equipment, control devices, telecommunications, etc.

The company was founded in 1982. Since then, despite the ups and downs of the venezuelan economy, the trend has been one of growth. We have followed a policy of manufacturing many of the parts we need, such as frames and support legs. We are also capable of stamping many of our E-I laminations.

Our personnel is composed of 30 persons, including administration, technical and factory workers. We have a very low turnover rate compared to industry in general.

We strive to be a strong dealer in the low- and medium-power transformer market and we are constantly trying to improve the quality of our products with a view to exporting our products. Trying to achive this we are normalizing our production to meet ISO, UL, CSA, VDE and ANSI standards. Contrary to what happened to other industries in Venezuela, we have survived without major difficulties the opening process to the international markets. This has happened because a big part of our production is of models developed in our R&D deparment to our clients' specifications. That means that in a way our enterprise is a service entity. Our product is mainly handcrafted, and because the cost of labor in Venezuela is relatively low, this gives us an economic advantage compared to imported units which are much more expensive than ours.

ILLUMINATION: TRANSMAGNECA manufactures a wide variety of ballasts for sodium, mercury and metal-halide HID lamps. We are in the process of changing our ballast to a new kind of construction: instead of the old system of cardboard air gap, we are gradualy changing to the use of special sheet with incorporated air gap and core soldered with inert gas (argon), which makes the ballast relatively inmune to any mechanical alteration (mishandling, thermal contraction and expansion, etc.). The ballasts are designed to operate with a temperature elevation (Delta T) of 75C. The materials used are premium quality: low-loss silicon steel, enameled wire rated to 180C or higher. We also make transformers for use with halogen lamps, in different voltages and power ratings, of which the most popular is 120V/12V 50VA 60Hz.
